Honest Change for Honolulu?

Still waiting for the second printout as I write this, but the writing is on the wall for this one too.

Tomorrow's headline in advance: Duke Bainum is the new mayor of Honolulu.

The second printout is in. And Mufi has pulled to nearly a dead heat, only 1000 votes behind. I may be be eating my words by the third printout.

The results are in. And Mufi has pulled off the surprising come-from-behind victory to become the new mayor of Honolulu.

How did he do it? Some are pointing to a smear campaign.

Bainum laments personal attacks.

Remember these words. Do we need it? Can we afford it? Can we maintain it?

We'll see if Mufi lives up to them. I hope so.
